2003 saturn ion where is the battery
How hard is it to install a new battery myself? Where do I look on the battery to find its model? Anyone recommend a specific brand? Re: Battery change Ion. This battery is not an ordinary one that you can buy from Sears or any other auto parts store , it has vents coming out of the side of the battery that connect to two exhaust hoses that expel built up gases from entering into the car.

Do not get a conventional battery, otherwise you'll be riding around with a potential bomb placed conveniently close to your fuel tank. Another thing to think about is that the OEM battery is a sealed-top Delco maintence free type. Most all other types have vents on their top, and that kind almost always burp or "leak" battery acid through those vents, eventually.
Since the ION battery is in your trunk, it is very possible that a top vented battery could eventually "leak" and cause corrosion in your trunk. I don't know of anyone other than a Saturn retailer or Pepboys that sells them around here. At any rate, a Delco battery would be the only one that I would consider for replacement. HeroHog's Photos. Where is the battery located on the ? I assume from the posts that it is in the trunk somewhere??? I am having some flickering light problems in the car and just assumed that the battery at this point might be a good start and a safe decision after years In the trunk, hence my comment earlier about the fuel tank.
